My name is Gracie Smith and I have a passion in photographic storytelling, but who also enjoys writing and video-making.
I graduated the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, with an emphasis in photojournalism. I worked at the Columbia Missourian as a photographer, reporter, and photo editor. Afterwards, I spent six months in Michigan as a photo intern at the Kalamazoo Gazette/MLive. Since then, I have been working as a reporter/photographer at the Grand Island Independent newspaper in Nebraska.
Over the years, my skills in photography, video-making, writing, and communication have strengthened. I have also learned to work in fast past environments with different types of people. I work well in both individual and team environments.
My friends and family would describe me as a friendly and exuberant person. I am also a hard working individual, who will not stop until the task is done. While I am a self-starter, as I enjoy working within a team environment. I am eager to continue my career in telling the stories that I love.
